Day Trips
We regularly orgainse day trips throughout the year so that we can get together socially.
2008:
Saturday, 15th November 2008 - 'Crafts for Christmas' NEC Birmingham
8.00 a.m. on Saturday, 15th November 2008 saw members of Lost Skills Found Friends board a Davies Coaches bus for the combined Crafts for Christmas / Hobbycrafts and Art Materials Live Exhibition, their first visit to the NEC in Birmingham. We arrived at 11.45 a.m. at an exceptionally busy and impressive NEC and along with thousands of others browsed our way through over 200 craft stalls and sourced new craft supplies from Europe and the USA. Some members attended a watercolour workshop given by Geoff Kersey whilst others attended wool / card craft workshops and either learnt new skills or honed up on old ones.
We left the NEC at 4.00 p.m., exhausted but happy coming away with plenty of materials and ideas for new projects and looking forward to the next trip.

Tuesday, 2nd December 2008 - 'Royal Welsh Winter Fayre', Builth Wells
For the visit to the Royal Welsh Xmas Show, Builth Wells on the 2nd December 2008 we left Llanelli, by coach at 9.00 a.m. enjoying the beautiful scenery on the way and arrived at the Showground at 11.15 a.m. There was an abundance of craft stalls for everyone to look around and the range of craft goods on sale was fantastic with many a bargain to be had and plenty of ideas to work with. We participated in tasting many farm products that were on sale – jams, sausages, cheeses, and pickles.
Although it was a cold, dull day everyone on the trip said it was a fantastic day out and hoped that it can be repeated next year. THANK YOU Awards for All, Wales
